3 - Corruption

“What can happen in only 2 years?” Tom thought.

In 2 years, Tom understood.

How one corrupt family could destroy their future generations for good. As well as anyone foolish enough to get themselves involved with such a family.

If there did not exist proof of their despicable crimes, who would believe it? They were both master manipulators and con artists and would frame others to avoid getting caught.

They were cunning liars. So were some people around them.

Sam had abused Tom in a myriad of ways and there was video recorded evidence of it all but Tom always forgave her. Did she ever think she would have to face justice for her crimes? Probably not. As her shock 2 years later would prove.

Tom would give her one last chance to explain herself. If she had taken that one chance, she would have been saved from all the humiliation. She would get a third shot at life.

But she didn’t. Tom found out the girl that said that she hated cheating and lying would cheat on him for 2 years and lie about almost everything. He would also find out that her father was a cheater like her as well.

Tom was unbelievably calm and patient. Which was the total opposite of his counterpart. He tried to understand Sam’s psychology and why she acted the way she did. How she could lie easily? And how she was unable to understand the consequences of her actions.

Was she unbelievably stupid that she would not use the lifeline she was handed? That would stop her from being completely humiliated in front of thousands of people.

No. Not stupid. And not completely bad. There was one person who still believed in her. Her husband. Tom Hope.

Just like his last name, that was what Tom signified to his other half. Hope that she would take the chance to not destroy her life completely.

He would give her one last chance.

And it was for Sam’s own benefit. Would she understand that she was about to enter a hole that she would never be able to get out of once inside. If she actually did, she would cry. Cry like crazy for the crimes she committed. She would ask for forgiveness.

And if Sam actually did apologise, Tom would have forgiven her. That was his heart. Which was being abused badly by her.

TBC.
