Kindness to the unkind

Kindness is a beautiful thing.

But it can be ruined by people who do not share the same values as someone who is decent and kind.

How can we be kind to people who have wronged us? People who have chosen to take the path of lies?

Empathy. But it’s easier said than done.

When you yourself become a victim of someone who chooses to hurt you, it can be difficult to empathise with such a person.

Your initial reaction might be to detest such a person who thrives on being dishonest and hurtful to others.

But it can be uplifting. To not lower your standards when someone else wrongs you.

Inevitably, people who are hurtful do suffer the consequences of their actions. One way or the other. Maybe people finally realise the truth about such people. Maybe they get caught trying to fool one more person.

And the people who show patience and strength when they’ve been wronged, they also reap its positive aspects.

TBC.
